about

This one has a complicated story.
It all started with some ideas I had one night, while on the road.
A lot of weird ideas about the things I saw from the bus window.
I always thought I should write a song about them, so I did, a year later.

But when I wrote this set of lyrics, its original name was Sometimes Never
(then another song stole it, but that's another story).
The first tune I composed for this set of lyrics is completely gone by now. All I remember was that it was impossible to sing. I didn't try, actually, but something told me it would sound like shit so I forgot it completely.

Then I thought of singing it over the last chord sequence of another song of mine, one called Música Ambiente IV.
It worked.
But there's more.

For the arrangement, I decided to do something I'm trying for more than a year now: to give each chord a different sound.
This idea never works the way I want it to, but the result is probably better than the original idea. Whatever...

NOTE 1: If you're a fan of progressive rock, you'll get the title!
NOTE 2: Yes, I'm aware of the fact that the vocals are flat, but I like it like that.

lyrics

ON THE RUN FROM POSEIDON

The night falls. It gets so dark that you think you're nowhere.
Look to the sky. You've never seen so many stars before.
The moon seems bigger and closer than it usually does.

And the people, if there's any, have become rare and lost.
It seems they're not living here, but there must be someone near.
They're actually so few that they have never ever seen each other.

So they live in total loneliness, but you don't have to bother.
Each one is an island and that's all they'll ever know.
And we don't have a clue of where to go.
